The Japanese Student Association at Southern Illinois University Carbondale serves as a cultural hub for students interested in Japan, creating an open space for international exchange and mutual learning on campus.
Mission, Vision & Goals
Mission
To introduce Japanese culture to non-Japanese individuals to foster cross-cultural understanding, while facilitating students' adaptation to their new campus environment.
Vision
To create a welcoming and harmonious campus community where Japanese students can seamlessly assimilate, share their heritage, and thrive socially and academically.
Goals
Promote cultural awareness through educational and social events; support incoming and current students navigating life in a new environment; and build strong relational bridges between Japanese students and the wider university body.
