International RSO
The Nepalese Student Society (NSS) at Southern Illinois University Carbondale serves as the representative body for Nepalese students within the university system. Open to all students, faculty, staff, and Carbondale community members with an interest in Nepalese culture, NSS creates an inclusive space to share and experience Nepalese traditions.
To represent the interests and welfare of Nepalese students at SIUC, provide fellowship among students and faculty, and organize activities that reflect local values and cultural norms.
To foster a well-coordinated and vibrant campus community where diverse cultural, social, athletic, and educational events seamlessly bridge Nepalese students with the broader university environment.
Represent student needs across social and educational activities; coordinate diverse community events while maintaining local cultural norms; manage organizational and institutional funding through proper university channels; and maintain structured executive leadership to oversee the association's growth and financial health.
Pradip is a Physics Ph.D. student from Nepal with a passion for quantum computing and scientific research. He enjoys learning new things, collaborating with others, and staying active through soccer, pickleball, badminton, hiking, and long drives. He also enjoys exploring new places, social activities, and spending time with friends.

Nirajan is a Mechanical Engineering student from Butwal, Nepal, with interests in engineering, robotics, technology, and investing. He enjoys challenging himself through chess, strength training, and long-distance running while continually learning how complex systems work. Outside academics, he loves cooking and exploring new ideas. A fun fact: he used to be an ambidextrous bowler.

Outside academics, he loves traveling, hiking, exploring nature, playing the guitar, and cooking. He values new experiences, staying active, and contributing to a supportive and welcoming community.

Prashna Prasai is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in health care management at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, with plans to advance her career in nursing and become a registered nurse. She is passionate about healthcare, community engagement, and cultural exchange. Outside of academics, she enjoys cooking, exploring new cultures, and connecting with others.

Priyanka is a graduate student from Nepal pursuing a master’s in Forest Science and Biology. She is passionate about environmental conservation, community development, and sustainable forest management. Outside academics, she enjoys traveling, creating content, photography, and cultural activities. A lifelong vegetarian, she also writes poems inspired by nature daily.
