The Bangladesh Student Association (BSA) at SIUC serves as a dedicated community for Bangladeshi students, fostering fellowship, cultural representation, and collaboration within the university. Membership is open to all Bangladeshi students at Southern Illinois University, providing them with a platform to share their rich heritage and innovative ideas with the broader campus community.
To promote the core interests of Bangladeshi students at SIUC, provide a welcoming fellowship among students and faculty, and actively represent student needs regarding Bangladeshi culture and heritage.
To establish a supportive and inclusive campus environment that celebrates Bangladeshi identity, enhances cultural exchange, and contributes innovative ideas to benefit the entire university community without discrimination.
Coordinate cultural and community activities; maintain an accurate and active network of members; ensure financial transparency and responsible allocation of funds toward organizational programs; and organize regular, structured meetings to drive student-led initiatives.
Nehal is a Ph.D. student in Chemistry from Cumilla, Bangladesh, whose research focuses on developing advanced nanoscale materials for environmental and public health applications. As a Graduate Assistant at SIU’s Micro Imaging and Analysis Center, he enjoys exploring the microscopic world through electron microscopy. Outside academics, he enjoys sports, traveling, and movies.

Mahatab is an Economics student from Dhaka, Bangladesh, who balances academic research with a variety of interests. He enjoys weightlifting and playing chess in his free time. Passionate about sharing his culture, he proudly represents Bangladesh at cultural events and loves cooking traditional Bangladeshi dishes for family gatherings.
Nahida is an Applied Physics student from Bangladesh who enjoys learning, travelling, photography, and spending time with family. Curious and hardworking, she values meeting people from different cultures and exploring new ideas and opportunities. She hopes to make a positive impact through research while building meaningful connections and continuing to grow personally.

Sayeduzzaman is a Civil Engineering student from Chandpur, Bangladesh, with interests in photography, hiking, and history. He enjoys exploring nature, learning about the past, and capturing memorable moments through photography. In his free time, he collects coins, combining his appreciation for history with a hobby that connects cultures and stories.
Eimtiaz is a Civil Engineering graduate student from Rajshahi, Bangladesh, specializing in Environmental Engineering. With professional experience in environmental and construction engineering, he enjoys taking on new challenges and connecting with diverse communities. Outside academics, he loves photography, driving, and road trips that combine both passions together.
