Rosalba Alavarado Acevedo
Rosalba Alvarado is a doctoral student in Curriculum and Instruction at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Currently, Rosalba holds a fellowship focused on furthering Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice. She is also a Fulbright Scholar alumna from El Salvador, Central America. Boasting an accomplished academic background, Rosalba has obtained two master’s degrees: the first in educational counseling and the second in Linguistics and TESOL. Her research interests include culturally responsive pedagogies for Latinx communities, bilingualism, cultural capital, and technology integration into teaching and learning. Outside academics, Rosalba enjoys spending time in nature and gardening.
